Max Ripley at Palisade Head





Palisade Head is just over 45 minutes north of Duluth and rises out of the already rugged shoreline. Over the past summer I was lucky enough to be part of a small posse of climbers that raced the setting sun after full days at work to send a couple of routes or, as the days began to cool in late August bundle up to fend off a north wind blowing down the lake. No matter the time of day or temperature our spirits were always high with the comraderie of climbing.

Oh fred, they are BEAUTIFUL! I love the way you took many in sepia and b&w. Keep getting the depth in the photographs. AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!
